Schultz wants trial separate from Curley

HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY --One of two former Penn State administrators accused of lying to a grand jury and failing to report suspected child abuse now wants his case separated.

The motion, filed Monday in Dauphin County Court, argues that former vice president Gary Schultz can't get a fair trial if he faces a jury alongside suspended athletic director Tim Curley.

The two are charged with failing to report a 2001 incident in which graduate assistant Mike McQueary said he witnessed Sandusky molesting a boy in a football locker-room shower - and then lying about it to a grand jury.

Schultz and Curley are scheduled for trial in January.
