Wanted Emporium Fugitive Now in Police Custody

After 26 days on the run, a wanted Clear Creek man is now in police custody.

Emporium Police confirm 58 year old Tom Smith turned himself in at approximately 8:45 Monday night..
Police say they received a tip that Smith was at the Allegheny Pub, a local bar.  They surrounded it and Smith came out without incident.

He was arraigned late Monday evening on kidnapping, aggravated assault and other charges.
Smith allegedly abducted a bank employee at gun point on August 8th.

She jumped from the moving car and Smith fled the scene.

The U.S. Marshal Service, FBI , the Mountaineer Search and Rescue and multiple police departments have been involved in the manhunt.
