In July, Randall Brooks was sentenced to 35 to 77 years in prison for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend. In December 2009, Brooks, of Howard Township, tried to shoot Matthew Ross from a moving truck. Ross was hit once in the arm from the 12-guage shotgun. Brooks tried to tamper with jury.
