DAVIDSVILLE, SOMERSET COUNTY - The Conemaugh Township School Board Member charged with having inappropriate contact with a child has resigned.
It is because the 56 year old Brian Eppley was a former Conemaugh Township school board President and long time member of the board that the serious criminal charges filed against him really hit home in the district.

The retired Meyersdale Teacher has been charged with unlawful restraint and corruption of a minor after he allegedly held a male child against his will on dozens of occasions and forced the child to put his bare feet in Eppley's face.

The alleged crimes are even more bizarre because police say the contact took place in Eppley's church and other public buildings. Efforts to contact Eppley for his response were unsuccessful.

Conemaugh township school officials say they just want to help the police with the on-going criminal investigation.   Police investigation this case say there is the possibility that additional criminal charges could be filed.   A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next week

The Board of the Conemaugh Township School District is expected to fill the opening left by Eppley's resignation at the board's regular meeting in September.
