No Mention of Sandusky in newly released FBI file of Joe Paterno

Updated: September 13, 2012
A just released FBI file on Joe Paterno is out after a request from media outlets under the Freedom of Information Act.

The former Penn State football coach's 868-page portfolio makes no mention of Jerry Sandusky, and mainly contains threatening letters sent to Paterno and his staff in the 1970's and 80's.  An FBI memo dated Dec. 16, 1977, said Paterno found the letters troubling. The FBI withheld 44 pages of the file, citing privacy issues and the protection of a confidential source.
