ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - Family and friends laced up their sneakers to remember and support our fallen troops Saturday.

The third annual Run for the Fallen kicked off Saturday morning at Mansion Park in Altoona.  People of all ages could walk or jog laps around the track.  Each complete lap was in memory of one service member killed during operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.  Around seven thousand service member have been killed in those operations so far.  The goal is to run a mile for each fallen soldiers.

Friends and family say they appreciate all the support from the community and hope the event grows in the coming years.
