By: Dirk Copland
Updated: August 2, 2012

If you have considered camping in the past but feel it's to expensive to give it a try, now might be your best time to give it a shot.  As the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has teamed up with Gander Mountain to offer first time campers all the gear and a two night stay at a participating state park for just twenty bucks.  This is the 2nd year of the camping program.  Of the state parks participating in our coverage are include:  Black Moshannon, in Centre County; Laurel Hill in Somerset County and Parker Dam in  Clearfield County.  Reservations should be made by calling the park office directly. The program will run through early fall.
