BLAIR TOWNSHIP, BLAIR COUNTY - Fire fighters in Blair County were called out to deal with a mobile home fire near Hollidaysburg on Wednesday.

The blaze was reported just after noon on River Road in Blair Township. Firefighters say by the time they arrived on the scene, the empty trailer was already fully engulfed with flames shooting out of the windows and roof of the unoccupied structure.   Because of the advanced stage of the fire, the Assistant Fire Chief of the Hollidaysburg Fire Department told firefighters to stay out of the building and do what they could to battle the blaze from outside.

Because there were no utilities hooked up to the building at the time it burned, the Assistant Chief on duty said he considered the fire to be suspicious.  State Police have been called in to try and determine the cause of the destructive mid-day fire.
