PA State Budget Nears Approval

By: Dirk Copland
Updated: June 20, 2012

Governor Tom Corbett and Republican legislative leaders agreed in principle to a near $27.7 billion budget.   The agreement for the new fiscal year which begins on July 1st has still to be approved by the full house and senate.  However if the budget is agreed it would be a $500 million increase to the budget that Corbett presented to lawmakers earlier this year.   If passed this would be the first budget to be approved since Governor Tom Corbett took office.
