STATE COLLEGE, PA. -- The State College girls track and field team will go for its second straight state championship, the program's fourth overall, at the PIAA Championships on Friday and Saturday at Seth Grove Stadium at Shippensburg University.

After winning every non-hurdle event and three relays to win its seventh straight district title last Thursday, all under head coach Jennifer Evans, the team and now goes to the state meet with a target on its back.

Even after losing key members from last year's championship team, this year's squad still feels the have the depth and determination to win again. They feel they are strong overall, but especially in distance events and the relays, with their best chance being in the 4 x 100 relay. All four members return from a team that placed fifth in the state last year.
