PHILIPSBURG, PA. -- The top seed in the District 6-AA baseball playoffs, Philipsburg-Osceola, held off the No. 4 seed in a semifinal matchup on Monday afternoon.

The Mounties beat Ligonier Valley, 8-6. The Rams starter walked in the Mounties' first four runs as Philipsburg build a 7-0 lead. Ligonier Valley would keep fighting by coming back with six runs, but it was not enough as the top seed hangs on for the two-run win.

Philipsburg will play in the championship game at Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona at 7 p.m. on Friday.
