Critz Effect on Region

JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY - Experts look at how Critz holding on to his 12th District seat will affect our region.
One of the biggest elections Primary night was the Critz/Altmire race. Congressman Mark Crtiz was able to hold on to his seat in the 12th district even though it had changed so much under redistricting his opponent, also a sitting congressman, had more voters from his original district in the new 12th.
The people that voted for Critz think he can make Johnstown an important city in a district that is moving farther and farther west. And they believe his victory is a victory for the eastern half of the new 12th district.
Dr. Ray Wrabley is a Political Science Professor at the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown. He says around 90% of the voters in Cambria and Somerset Counties voted for Critz. But to win Critz has to pick up close to 30% in Allegheny and Beaver Counties, which he did. Wrabley expects Critz to start spending more time there to meet the voters there, but he's already got some supporters. Wrabley thinks the endorsement from the major labor parties greatly helped him out in Allegheny County.
Critz has to face another Pittsburgh area challenger in November. Republican Keith Rothfus will be on the republican ticket in that race. Wrabley thinks who comes out to vote in the Presidential race will have a big effect on the 12th district race.

People are so happy in Washington, Greene and Fayette Counties that Critz is gone, the fact that anyone thinks this guy will do anything more than be a yes man and lie to you, good luck. The website citizens against mark critz tells a horrible story of how critz ignored a military rape while serving on the armed forces committee. He would have lost his old district, if the republicans are smart they will call him out for what he has done.
