In honor of National Autism Awareness Month, Panera Bread is hosting a "Pieces of Hope" cookie campaign.  On Friday, April 13th through Sunday, April 22nd, Panera Bread is inviting community members to purchase a Puzzle Piece Shortbread Cookie at their local Panera Bread bakery-caf.  One hundred percent of proceeds from the Puzzle Piece Shortbread Cookies will be donated to The Autism Center of Pittsburgh, benefitting the Johnstown and Altoona areas.

The "Pieces of Hope" cookie campaign will take place at the 32 Western, PA participating Panera Bread Cafes including Pittsburgh, Erie, Johnstown and Altoona market areas. This special Puzzle Piece Shortbread Cookie is unique to the area and will only available April 13-April 22.

"Panera Bread is a dear friend of the Autism community. The money raised by this cookie-sale will be used by the Autism Center of Pittsburgh to help children and their families receive the help and support they desperately need. Thank you Panera, and thank all of you for buying cookies," Dr. John Carosso, Psy.D., Executive Director: Autism Center of Pittsburgh.

The money raised through the Pieces of Hope for Autism campaign will stay local to help Autistic children and their families in the Erie and Altoona/ Johnstown areas.  There will be a special game day at Peoples Natural Gas Field with The Altoona Curve on Friday, June 1 at 7:00 pm.  Complimentary tickets are available for children with Autism and one parent or guardian to attend a game.  The Altoona Curve mascot and players will also make an appearance at the Altoona Panera Bread caf on Saturday, April 21 from 10 am-noon in support of the campaign.
