Insurer Wants to Deny Penn State Coverage

UNIVERSITY PARK, CENTRE COUNTY - A Penn State insurer says it doesn't have to pay claims for a civil lawsuit filed in the Jerry Sandusky case.

Pennsylvania Manufacturer's Association says it is allowed to deny coverage to the suit, which was filed by "John Doe A" in Philadelphia in November.

"Doe A," says beginning in 1992, Penn State neglected him for several years and allowed Sandusky to sexually assault him.

Penn State says a policy that year could exclude coverage and believes policies over several years should be honored, which would then grant coverage.

The university is asking for $50,000 in damages.
