Central Mountain and DuBois Advance

WINGATE, PA. -- District 6 basketball playoffs are underway, and DuBois and Central Mountain are both moving on in Quad-A action after victories on Tuesday night.

In the early game at Bald Eagle Area high school, No. 5 seed Hollidaysburg pulled within four in the fourth quarter, but No. 4 seed Central Mountain was too strong down the stretch. They survived to win 45-36. Central Mountain's Cole Renninger had a game-high 20 points while Jordan Baum had a team-high 12 points in the losing effort for the Golden Tigers.

The second game featured No. 3 seed DuBois and No. 6 seed Altoona. DuBois missed a three-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime tied at 37. The Beavers went on a 7-0 run in OT and prevailed with a 48-40 win.  Tanner Gooden had a game-high 16 points while Nate Avery chipped in 12 for DuBois, and Deshae Lee and Matt Dry each had 10 points for Altoona.
