Let's face it, kids these days need more exercise.  One -third of our nation's kids are overweight or obese.
But it's hard to get kids motivated until now.
Steve Rosionek, PBS Kids' music host is also the host of a new video and program called "Recess Rocks".

"Recess Rocks is all about getting kids moving and learning life long habits right where they are."
Rosionek adds,  "The lessons are a combination of African drumming, kick boxing, tai chi and hip hop dancing."

That makes it something for everyone!

Teachers can simply download the video and music and you are ready to rock...And roll.

You can bring that right into your classroom - the materials are also free and online and what they do is bring materials and lessons into the classroom that can be used by the teacher

And for overweight or obese kids it's a win-win to combat risks like diabetes, high blood pressure or asthma and more as
Dr. Nwando Olayiwola, Consultant for "Recess Rocks" explains.
"They also have issues with depression and mental health issues as well as self esteem, so getting him to be at good weight and to be healthy and to be aerobically engaged  increases their performance, their focus their concentration, their attention."
