STATE COLLEGE, PA. -- On national signing day for college football, some area high school players announce where they will continue their football careers.

Three players from the State College Little Lions state quarterfinal team are moving on. Running back/fullback Jack Haffner is walking on at Penn State while defensive lineman Jon Cox chose Franklin and Marshall, and David Gordeuk, also a defensive lineman, will play at the U.S. Naval Academy.

"I'm extremely excited to see all the hard work that I put out and the season pay off. It's just a great honor and blessing to be here today," said Gordeuk.

Also signing today were three members of the Clearfield team that finished 11-2 after a loss in the first round of the PIAA AAA state championship. Quarterback Curtis Frye is heading to Millersville University, long snapper Eric White chose Clarion, and running back Beau Swales will play at Lock Haven.

"I'm pumped. I mean it's probably one of the greatest days of my life to go to the next level to play football. It's going to be a big challenge, but I'm looking forward to it," Swales said.

Two players signed from a Philipsburg-Osceola team that made it to the District 6 semifinals. Offensive lineman Kyle Lanich will continue on at Edinboro while kicker/punter Alex Boumerhi chose Lock Haven.

"It's really special...I mean I'm really excited to start playing next year at Lock Haven. I'm just excited for a new chapter in my life," said Boumehri.
