ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY -- The United Way of Blair County is gearing up for their 2011-2012 campaign by kicking it off with a music festival.

Live it Up for Good is the 2011 Blair County Musicfest that will take place on Saturday, August 20th, 2011.

The festival will take place from 4pm-10:30pm at the Railroaders Memorial Museum.

Board secretary and United Way volunteer Judy Kimberlin thinks the music festival is a fun way to kick off the campaign and for donors to learn more about where their United Way donations go. "If we come together in this way we can see each other and understand the need a little bit more.  We will have information on the agencies that benefit from United Way and we will have donors and volunteers and we will get the word out about United Way."

Bands set to perform include: "Inside Out" a classic rock band; The Hawks a blues band; Mama Corn a bluegrass band and Ultra Magnetic a rock and blues band.

Tickets for the event are $10 presale and $15 at the door.
You can also purchase tickets at all Thompson Pharmacy locations, the Railroaders Memorial Museum and the United Way of Blair County Office.

Call 814-944-0884 for more details.

WTAJ News Anchors Amy Mearkle and Patrick Schurr are serving at the campaign co-chairs for the 2011-2012 United Way of Blair County fund-raising campaign.
