Indianapolis,   IN  (Sports   Network)   -  The   Indianapolis  Colts   waived defensive  tackle Ed  Johnson on Thursday following his arrest early Wednesday morning.
Johnson  was pulled  over just after midnight in Hamilton County, Indiana, and charged with speeding and possession of marijuana.
The  24-year-old  Johnson, who signed with  the Colts prior to the 2007 season and  came into camp  as a backup but moved into a starter's role after Anthony "Booger" McFarland sustained a season-ending knee injury in training camp, was the only Indianapolis lineman to start in each of the 16 games last season.
The  Penn State product  finished the 2007 campaign eighth on the team with 63 tackles.  Johnson also recorded a sack, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble last season.
