ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - A Blair county resident finds out it pays to recycle.

The Blair County IRC Recycling Rewards program will hand out its first reward for the perfect recycling bin Wednesday night.

The IRC started the program in April. They're randomly checking recycling bins and when they find one with everything it should have, and nothing it shouldn't. The person that owns it wins a gift card.

They hope a cash incentive will "ignite the fires of enthusiasm among residential recyclers because a reward could be coming their way."

The first winner will get a hundred dollar gift card at the Altoona City Council meeting.
