All of the affected dishwashers have plastic tubs and were sold by major retailers between February of 2006 and April of this year. An electrical problem with the heating element can occur leading to the fire danger. The dishwashers sold under a variety of brand names including Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Crosley and Admiral. Specific model numbers affected by the recall are listed on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's web site.

Work is now officially under way on a new housing community near Spruce Creek in Huntingdon County.
Emily Estates is located near the intersection of State Routes 453 and 45. Thirty one homes on about two acre lots are planned for the community. Cisney and O'Donnell of Huntington is the exclusive builder on the project. The location of the development is expected to provide easy access to State College, Altoona and Huntingdon.
An official ground breaking for the project was held on this Thursday.

The Hooter's restaurant on College Avenue in State College closed suddenly during the recent holiday weekend.
A sign outside the business says the location will soon re-open as a Kildare's Irish Pub.
That chain has four other locations in Pennsylvania.
No word on when the new state college business will open its doors.
The bottle shop connected to the Hooter's restaurant will stay open for business during the building renovation project that is already under way.
Applications for jobs at the new Kildare's Pub are being accepted at that bottle shop business.
