ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - A Blair County woman who's given her time and talents to many community organizations will be honored for her contributions.
Nancy Devorris moved to Altoona at age 19 and got involved from day one.
She's served on many boards including the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation, the Altoona Regional Helath System's Foundation for Life, the Blair County Arts Foundation, the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, Agudath Achim Synagogue and the Greater Altoona Jewish Federation.
As this year's WISE Women of Blair County Tribute winner in Community Service, Nancy helps with fund-raising for the arts, Penn State and much more.
She says, "People are very generous on the whole. Some people are able to give more I accept what they can give. Some people I feel should give more and I let them know that I feel that way."
Nancy, her husband Don and two children, Phil Devorris and Andrea Cohen all give generously to many organizations in our region.
She'll be honored along with six other outstanding women Tuesday, April 6th at the Tribute dinnner at the Casino at Lakemont.
