March Madness Makes Money

By: Ben Manning

ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - People across the nation have basketball brackets on the brain. But for local bars, March Madness makes money.

Co Brhs in Altoona has been gearing up for March Madness for months. They’re carrying every game on big screens. And they’ve been doing it for 13 years now. And owner Steve Horton says some people come back every year.

On a regular day Co Brhs has a lunch crowd then it thins out till happy hour and the night crowd. But that changes for March Madness, Horton says fans start coming in at noon and stay until midnight. He says wing orders more than double and beer sales are up ten fold.

Everyone has their favorites, but Horton says all fans are good for business.
