BUSINESS PAGE- Tech Giant AOL is once again an independant company The Firm's mega- merger with the Time-Warner corporation several years ago turned into a financial disaster for everyone concerned. Now AOL is trying for a come back. AOL started trading on Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange as an Independent Company. The firm which played a big part in getting millions of Americans involved with the internet, is now worth an estimated $3 billion. The company was valued at more than $100- billion when it merged with Time Warner back in 2001. Company officials are again trying to make AOL a leading provider of internet services and content.

The corner of Logan Boulevard and Sixth Avenue in Altoona is the home of a new Italian Restaurant and carry out. Alpho's opened for business in late October at the busy intersection near Mansion Park. The alcohol free restaurant has nine employees and is open seven days a week. The eatery serves a wide range of sandwiches and sides along with home-made soups and salads. Customers can eat in, take out or use the new restaurant's free delivery service.

A different sort of store has opened outside of Washington D.C. Just Born, the Company that makes chick and bunny shaped marshmallow Peeps has opened its first store devoted entirely to the popular treats. The store, located in the community of Oxon Hill, stands as a monument to the marshmallow confection with a Peeps inspired decor and all sorts of Peeps related products for sale. While the Christmas season is expected to be busy for the new Peeps store, Company officials say they will really hit their stride when Easter approaches.
