Seats in the Outfield Bleachers and tickets for General Admission are now just $5.00.
General Manager Rob Egan says, "This is the first phase of our 'Curve Family Values' initiative to make games more affordable for all fans." Egan says that because of tough economic times people are cutting back spending everywhere. "Prices are increasing, so we thought it'd be nice to go against the norm and give them more for their hard earned dollar."
The Curve also picked a new broadcast team. Former Voice of the Curve and play-by-play announcer Jason Dambach was named the State College Spikes General Manager. The new radio announcers will be Ron Potesta and Dan Zangrilli.
Potesta is now in his 12th season of broadcasting professional baseball. He spent 6 years with the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx as the Director of Broadcasting/Media Relations for the Double-A Souther league club.
Zangrilli will spend his second year with the Aloona Curve. He also has previous experience broadcasting for the State College Spikes, Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Panthers.
The Altoona Curve also annouced, "A Night of Champions" headline annual auction and hot stove dinner. It will be held on Friday January, 30, from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Former Pittsburgh Pirates Mike LaValliere, Kent Tekulve and Al Oliver will attend the event. All proceeds will benefit Operation Our Town.
This is the Altoona Curve's 11th season in profession baseball. Their 2009 schedule is set, and the home-opener is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. on Thursday, April 16th, against the Eerie SeaWolves.
