GROUNDHOG DAY CELEBRATION 2012
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4
| 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM | Breakfast with Phil, Punxsy Elks, 205 N. Findley St. Come have a buffet breakfast with Phil with groundhog related games & pictures of Phil and the Inner Circle. Purchase tickets in advance; $10 adult & $7.50 children. For tickets call 814-938-7700 Ext. 3. |
| 10:00 AM & Noon | Dr. Brian & Friends Storytellers, Celebration Tent, Barclay Square. Come enjoy these fantastic storytellers, book sharers, & song singers. |
| 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM | Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center, 201 N. Findley St. |
| 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Gilson's Stained Glass & More, 101 W. Mahoning St. There will be daily stained glass demos by various students. |
| 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, Noon & 1:00 PM | Phantastic Phil's Walking Tour! Enjoy a guided walking tour of more than a dozen of the Phantiastic Phil's sculptures with information about the project, trivia & "insider" tidbits. Tours start at Phil's Burrow & last about 45mins. It's free! |
| 11:00 AM | Best Dressed Groundhog Day Dog Competition, Celebration Tent Barclay Square. The dogs will be judged on different criteria. For a list of criteria go to www.groundhog.org. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3. Free to Enter. |
| 11:00 AM | Chain Saw Carver, Barclay Square. Randy Rupert of Wizard's Workshop, will carve logs into beautiful sculptures. His work is available for purchase |
| 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM | Vendors in the Park, Barclay Square. Come enjoy various food & other various types of vendors in the park. |
| 11:30 AM | Best Decked- Out Sled Competition, Celebration Tent, Barclay Square. A competition for children 12 & under, 3 different age group categories. | 9:00 PM - 1:00 AM | The Annual Rails to Trails Benefit Dance. Punxsy Eagles, 238 E. Mahoning St. After a one year hiatus, Down to The Wire is performing classic rock at this popular event. Dance the night away to one of the area's best bands. Admission is $8 per person. |
