The argument to save the train stop:
(From a Huntingdon County Business and Industry Inc.press release):
"Nearly 6,000 people annually utilize the train stop here in Huntingdon Borough. For many, this train stop means access to colleges, medical facilities or visiting loved ones.
A change in Federal Law (starting in October 2013) will require the state of Pennsylvania to pay approximately $5.7M to keep the Keystone West Corridor Train, the Pennsylvanian, running. Without action from the PA State Legislators, towns just like our from Pittsburgh to Harrisburg will lose Amtrak service. Join us to tell your legislators how important Amtrak service is to you!"
