Investigators Meet in Teen Shooting Death

By: Patrick Schurr
Updated: December 28, 2012
ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - The Blair County District Attorney began meeting with investigators Friday morning to determine if they believe someone should be held responsible for a teen's shooting death.

They have not officially released the victim's name.

However, family and friends said he's 16-year-old Jesse McElhinney.

They described him as having an infectious smile and someone who could always find a way to make them laugh.

McElhinney's brother said a friend came over to their house in Altoona's east end Wednesday afternoon to show Jesse a gun and it accidentally went off.

We'll let you know what investigators believe happened after they share their findings with us.
