When we visited Sue Lehman at her home in the Hollidaysburg area she used her Galaxy tab with a special app to talk, but not just to us. Sarah Holmes a research assistant at UPMC was setting at the medical center.
Sue's one of 40 people enrolled in a study of tele-rehabilitaiton, through the internet. Before she traveled to Greensburg to meet with Andy and they kept in touch via her new tablet and Nova Chat app.
Andy says, over the connection, "Sue is a great emailer. I get messages from her regularly . A lot of them are very exciting with new discoveries and things she's doing."
And one of the things she's doing is creating beautiful pictures with the device. Horses are a favorite theme and have always been a major part of her life.
A well known riding instructor before her accident, since then she's made her name again through Dreams Go On. She created the therapeutic riding program for people with physical, mental and emotional limitations. It's now easier to organize Dreams activities with the help of her tablet.
Andy's seen a difference in Sue since she started using the new device and app. He says,"she's taken it to heart to explore and learn the potential that she can be doing." And he says it's impressive.
