Sophomore defenseman Peter Sweetland (Newtown, Pa.), who added an assist, and freshmen forwards Kenny Brooks (Las Vegas, Nev.), David Glen (Fort Saskatchewan, Atla.) and Jonathan Milley (Gatineau, Que.) also tallied for the Nittany Lions.
Brooks gave Penn State a 1-0 first-period lead before the Nittany Lions exploded with three second-period tallies. Milley recorded his second power-play goal of the season before Sweetland scored in his first game of the 2012-13 campaign. Just 1:12 later, Bailey added this third of the season and, in the final frame, Glen capped off the scoring to account for the 5-0 final.
The Nittany Lions outshot Army by a 45-34 margin and were 1-for-5 with the man advantage. Army was 0-for-6 on the power play. Black Knights netminder Rob Tadazak surrendered five goals on 18 shots before Ryan Leets , who corralled 22 attempts, relieved him.
