Penn State Community Continues to Support Injured Cheerleader

PENN STATE, UNIVERSITY PARK - Penn State Cheerleader Paige Raque continues to show signs of improvement every day after falling nearly 40-feet from a downtown State College apartment.

Folks in the Penn State community are continuing to show signs of support.

New bracelets reading, #prayforpaige, are being sold in the HUB on Penn State's University Park campus.

Proceeds from the sales will go directly to Raque's family to help pay for medical expenses.

Organizers say the money raised will also help purchase air fare to send Raque back to Kentucky, where her family is from.

That flight will cost around $10,000.

Members of the Penn State Cheerleading Team say it's comforting to see the community come together to support one of their own.

"It's just really moving to all of us to know that everyone really cares so much," Sarah Markel said. "After everything our school has been through for the past year, to see them all come together like this, it's really great."

Raque is continuing to show signs of improvement and responsiveness, but still has a long road to recovery.
