About Monica's Heart (from their website):
Monica's Heart, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to placing retired racing greyhounds into loving homes. Since inception in 1996, more than eleven hundred retired racers have been placed.
Monica's Heart does not have a kennel facility. The dogs are cared for in foster homes until they are adopted. The adoption donation of $195 helps to offset the cost of the veterinary services, food, transportation costs, medicines, and other incidental charges.
Funding for Monica's Heart is totally dependent on adoption fees, membership, fundraisers, donations, and volunteer efforts of our members. Fundraisers include our annual Monica's Heart Summer Blast picnic held each June; bake sales, hoagie sales, annual used book/audio-video sale, and the sale of greyhound-related merchandise.
There is a Monica's Heart Meet & Greet this weekend!
