17 Year Old American Wins Gold in Boxing

United States middleweight Claressa Shields won the gold medal against her Russian opponent, 33-year-old Nadezda Torlopova, in women's boxing. Shields showed off her free-spirited style and brute strength with a 19-12 victory.
In the final round Shields even stuck her tongue out at her opponent after ducking a few punches in the final round. The 17-year-old won the only gold medal in London from the 12-member American Team.
Shields has been on the international boxing scene for less than two years. The Teenager still qualified for the Summer Games, after losing early in the world championships.
