Penn State Pegula Ice Arena

By: Brian Stalter
Updated: August 31, 2012
The Pegula Ice Arena broke ground in February 2012. The arena will house two ice rinks: a team hockey rink and a community rink. Capacity is set at 7,000 seats, 1,000 of those seats will be reserved for students. Also included are club seats and luxury suites. The community rink has 300 seats

Withing the complex is a 5,000-square foot weight room, hydrotherapy training room, steam room and team lounge. For fans, the arena offers concession stands and an interactive history of Penn State hockey. With a state-of-the-art press box the arena could hold professional hockey games.

Construction was made possible by Terrence M. and Kim Pegula who donated a Penn State record $88 million for Penn State hockey. This helped Penn State hockey move up to NCAA Division I.

The arena is located near the Bryce Jordan Center and will be ready for the 2012-14 season. Both Men's and Women's Hockey will play in the arena.
