CURVE, Pa. - New Hampshire starting pitcher Deck McGuire (5-11) tied a career high with seven innings pitched on Saturday night and helped lead the Fisher Cats to a victory over the Curve, 5-1, in front of 6,029 at Peoples Natural Gas Field.  Adalberto Santos finished the day 3-for-3 in the loss for the Curve.

Altoona starter Kyle McPherson (3-5) breezed through the first inning in order but had a bit of trouble in the second.  Kevin Howard reached on a Jarek Cunningham error to lead off the inning before Brian Van Kirk singled up the middle to place two on with no one out.  Brad Glenn followed with a double into the left-field corner that scored both Howard and Van Kirk to put New Hampshire in front, 2-0.

McPherson allowed a third run in the fourth when Fisher Cats leadoff man Ryan Goins tripled into center to score catcher Sean Ochinko.  The Mobile, Ala. native only finished four innings on Saturday night and permitted the three runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out a pair.  New Hampshire added its two final runs off Curve reliever Nathan Baker in the sixth when they used four straight hits to start the inning.

Jeff Inman worked a scoreless and hitless seventh and eighth for Altoona while Hunter Strickland struck out three in the ninth.  Altoona's only run of the game came in the bottom of the ninth when Quincy Latimore doubled in Santos but they'd score no more on Saturday night.
