Mrs. Slagle's Grade 2 class at Great Commission Schools in Altoona.
The students were learning about the pioneers, so they had a special "Pioneer School Day."
They could dress up if they wished.
The students did their written work with chalk on slates, there was a spelling bee competition and they had to memorize the three times table and recite it later on.
They ate their lunch outside and then played games that pioneer children enjoyed, such as Shadow Tag, Drop the Handkerchief, and Leap Frog.
