Big Impact on Voting

By: Benjamin Manning
Updated: November 6, 2012
The weather had a big impact on voting in Cambria County. In some places there is still a half a foot of snow on the ground. Cambria county election's director Fred Smith says Cambria normally has about a 35% voter turnout. But this year it was closer to 25%. At a polling location in Chest Township, there was no power in the morning. County officials brought them a 3000 watt generator to run the machines. And the only light came from a battery powered lamp. Monday night three polling places were without power but only Chest Township was still dark Tuesday morning.
