It was about midnight back on March 15th when the Logan Township Police were called to the Nittiany Pointe apartments near the campus of Penn State Altoona.
A large birthday gathering in one apartment had apparently ended with a serious assault. Police were told that the fight appeared to start over a stolen bottle of vodka.
As a result of the police investigation aggravated and simple assault charges were against two members of the sorority that was celebrating the birthday of one of two sorority members that were arrested. Twenty year old Brook Nolan of Philadelphia and Angela Kim of Ashburn, Virginia are both facing serious the criminal charges. Police say additional sorority members could be charged in the future.
That's why Penn State Altoona campus officials have suspended the sorority.
The suspension of the sorority was supported by the Offices of both Student Affairs and Judicial Affairs on the Altoona Campus.
A preliminary hearing for the two students charged with the assault has been scheduled for April 12th.
