Skincare Smoothies

The thing is, it's more than just controlling your weight, it is about more energy, being more mentally alert and over time, fewer breakouts, more even skin tone, less puffy eyes and just a better overall total body health.
One of the main reasons smoothies make sense - for topical skincare as well as part of a healthy diet - is the concentrated amount of active antioxidants that are found in raw fruits and veggies. Antioxidants help to repair damage throughout the body. This can slow down the aging process and keep you feeling good for longer amounts of time. Most fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants. Apples, pears, plums, nectarines, peaches, grapes, lemons and oranges are a good choice for fruit, since they are also packed with vitamin C and fiber. All of these fruits also travel well, allowing them to be an easy snack choice even when on the run. Broccoli, cucumbers, peppers, endame, carrots and tomatoes are good vegetable choices for antioxidants. They are also full of vitamins and fiber, and just a small amount count as a serving. If you don't like to eat any of these veggies plain, consider whipping them together with some of the more tart fruits like lemons and or raspberries.
Another good source of antioxidants is tea. If you are looking for a healthy alternative to soda, or something flavored to drink in place of water, tea is a good choice. This does not mean pre-bottled teas like Nestea or Arizona or the tea dispensed out of the soda gun as these are filled with the dreaded high fructose corn syrup. Unsweetened tea is low in calories and full of antioxidants. Organic white and green teas are usually the best. Roobios teas from South Africa have a much more naturally fruity flavor. Keep in mind that many teas also contain caffeine, so avoid drinking too much if you are sensitive to stimulants or suffer from anxiety symptoms.
The idea is to mix and match and find something you and your family like.
