Energizer Bunny Season continues. An encore for some resorts...

Where was this in December when we were chomping at the bit to get out skiing. The late starting ski season is finishing off with fabulous conditions. Yes, the spring sun has taken out some of the slopes even though it's been cold and we've had snow, but some resorts have flourished. In fact, Blue Knob has more snow now then they did a week ago. Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, Wisp, Timberline and Snowshoe all had a fabulous week with natural snowfall. Slope counts remain quite high and glade skiing, which is usually unheard of in late March, continues. Even low elevation Tussey Mountain had a change of heart, opened last weekend and will open for one more day on Saturday before cutting it quits. Many resorts have decided to alter hours for this late-season skiing, so please check before making the drive out.

As for the weather, don't forget the sunscreen on Saturday. We should have a good deal of sunshine. That sun will turn firm morning snow into spring conditions during the afternoon. Sunday will be even warmer and the snow will be slushier, especially as some rain showers move in.

Happy turns,
Joe Murgo
