Pa. Congresswoman Threatened For Healthcare Vote

By: Patrick Schurr
Updated: March 26, 2010

KITANNING, ARMSTRONG COUNTY - A western Pennsylvania U.S. Congresswoman says she has been threatened for her "yes" vote on the federal healthcare reform bill.

Representative Kath Dahlkemper, whose district covers Armstrong and Butler Counties, said someone sent a fax saying, quote, "You will never sleep through the night again" and called her a traitor.

In a statement Thursday, Dahlkemper said while "debate" and "dissension" are essential to democracy, quote, "threats and insults have no place in our public discourse."

The FBI is investigating and will determine if the threat is legitimate and, if so, how to deal with it.
