HARRISBURG - Bonusgate has ended with a guilty verdict for former House Democratic Whip Mike Veon.

After a week of deliberations, the Dauphin County jury convicted Veon on 13 out of 58 charges for masterminding a scheme to pay one-point-four-million-dollars in taxpayer money to staffers for campaign work.

Two of Veon's former aides, Annamarie Perretta-Rosepink and Brett Cott, were found guilty on several charges, while the fourth defendant, Stephen Keefer, was acquitted.

Keefer of Lebanon County, cried after the verdict was read. Veon refused comment when leaving the courtroom yesterday, and his lawyers vowed to appeal.
