UNIVERSITY PARK, CENTRE COUNTY - Hundreds of students won't sit or sleep for the next two days-- and they'll love every minute of it.

Penn State's annual Dance Marathon gets underway in the Bryce Jordan Center at 6 p.m. Friday. Then, it's 46 hours of non-stop movin' and groovin'.

THON is the culmination of students' year-long efforts to raise funds and awareness for the fight against childhood cancer.

The money goes to the Four Diamonds Fund, which provides support for children, families, staff, and researchers at the Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.

Over the past 41 years, THON has raised more than $89 million.

Our live coverage of this year's event begins at 4 p.m. Friday on Central Pa. Live and continues through the grand total announcement Sunday afternoon.
