ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - Students at Penn State Altoona are being warned their social security numbers may have been compromised, again.

Malware infected a server containing about 14 hundred Social Security numbers in September 2012. The numbers belong to students who were enrolled at Penn State Altoona before 2005. Letters are being sent out to people who would be affected.

Something similar happened in September 2011.

Computer experts say you should monitor your credit card statements and see if there are any odd charges, and call the social security office if it looks like someone has stolen your identity.

PSU of Altoona will be held accountable. How many more breaches of security has to happen for them to get it right?

This is pretty sad considering PSU Altoona is supposed to have one of the best Security and Risk Analysis programs in the state....
