Curve Double-Header Rained Out

Updated: June 19, 2007

ERIE- The Altoona Curve's scheduled doubleheader Tuesday evening against the Erie SeaWolves at Jerry Uht Park in Erie was postponed due to rain.  The two clubs will now play twinbills on Wednesday evening at 5:05 p.m. and Thursday afternoon at 12:05 p.m.

Heavy rains fell in downtown Erie starting at approximately 2 p.m. and continued until the game was officially called at 6:20.  The postponement means that for the fourth time this season in four scheduled meetings at Jerry Uht Park the two clubs were unable to play due to inclement weather.  Altoona was scheduled to open the 2007 regular season in Erie April 5-7, but all three of those contests were postponed due to snow.

In addition to doubleheaders scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, the two clubs will also play three more twinbills over the course of the remainder of the season -- August 31 and September 1 in Erie and August 18 in Altoona.

Wednesday's game one pitching match-up will feature Curve left-hander Josh Shortslef (1-6, 4.30) against Erie righty Andrew Kown (2-3, 4.35).  The game two pitching match-up is undecided for both clubs.  SPORTSBUG2007-06-19-1182302371.jpg
