Crosby set to return to Penguins
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Sidney Crosby went through an optional
practice today without problems and plans to play tomorrow night
when Pittsburgh takes on the New York Islanders.
Last season's NHL scoring champion has missed 28 of the
Penguins' past 31 games with a sprained right ankle, including the
last seven in a row.
Crosby was injured January 18th and didn't play again until
March 4th. He played three games that week, but hasn't played since
March 9th.
Crosby will center a line that includes Marian Hossa, a forward
acquired from Atlanta at last month's trading deadline. Hossa was
out with a knee injury when Crosby made his brief return earlier
this month.
Crosby was leading the league in scoring when he was hurt in
January. He had two goals and two assists in his three games
earlier this month, before the ankle began bothering him again.
