DUBOIS,CLEARFIELD COUNTY - Police say New Year's Eve a man dressed in all black, wearing a ski mask and carrying a hand gun walked into the S & T Bank on Scribner Avenue.
He demanded cash and fled the scene.
January 4, the same it was the same scenario. This time, the robber left without any money.
Wednesday DuBois City police announced two suspects are in custody for the robberies.
They say a tip led them to interview a man and woman already in jail on unrelated charges.
At 1:00 Friday, police announced Michele Garvey and Kevin Bundy are charged with allegedly robbing the S and T Bank on December 31 and January 4. Plus, allegedly robbing the Cash for Gold in Sandy Township January 4. They add the pair allegedly stole $10,000 from Tonnel's Jewelery in Brookville and tried to sell it at Cash for Gold.
Police say a tip led them to connect each case.
"The identifying and arrest of these individuals was made possible by working together with surrounding agencies including Sandy Township and Brookville" said DuBois City Chief Mike DiLullo.
" It should make the public feel a lot safer. Number 1, knowing these individuals involved in the 3 robberies and jewelry robberies and thefts are the same people and they will be behind bars for a number of years" said DiLullo.
"These guys look at a minimum mandatory for a robbery at 5 years incarceration and the maximum for a robbery is 20 years" said District Attorney William Shaw.
They will be arraigned Tuesday.
