NANTY GLO, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- The Nanty Glo community is stepping up to help one of its own.

The volunteer fire department sits nestled in the center of town.  The department's chief, Joe LaMantia became ill late last year with a rare liver infection.  The volunteer chief is also a dispatcher with Cambria County 9-1-1 but has been unable to work because of surgeries and medical problems.

To help cover medical cost LaMantia's fellow firefighters are holding a benefit Sunday January 27, 2013 at the Nanty Glo fire station.  All of the proceeds from the spaghetti dinner and basket party will benefit Joe and his family.

Anyone wishing to donate can either call the Firehouse at (814)749-0811 or become a friend of the Nanty Glo Fire Dept. on Facebook to leave a message.

Date: Sunday January 27,2013
Time: 11am-5pm
Where: At the Nanty Glo Fire Station
              870 Chestnut St
