Congress Reaches Dairy Deal

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The price for a gallon of milk won't go up as many feared.

U.S. Congressional leaders announced Sunday they reached a deal to extend the 2008 Farm Bill for at least one more year. That will allow dairy farmers to continue receiving financial support from the government.

If the funding had ended, U.S. Agriculture Sec. Tom Vilsack said Americans could have been forced to pay as much as $7 a gallon of milk.

Lesson- less government in certain areas impacts the poor much more than it does those better off. Be very careful what you wish for...

Let the market determine price. Folks want less government, give them less.

So What? Where do you think that Govt Subsidy comes from? We taxpayers. We are paying $7 a gallon one way or the other, I'd rather pay it directly to the people who produce the milk than it go round about thru the govt.
