RIDGWAY, ELK COUNTY - Heavy smoke engulfed an Elk County business Saturday afternoon.

The fire started around noon at the Allegheny Coating storage building in Ridgway. An employee saw part of the building on fire and called 911.

Several fire crews from Elk and Clearfield Counties assisted in fighting the flames.  The building was not a total loss. The fire chief estimates about 250 thousand dollars worth of damage in equipment.

The state fire marshal was called to the scene as a precaution. Police don't believe this fire was caused by arson, but are still investigating.
